- The movement of 17E6 was reversible and was not on account of toxic outcomes: in vitro 17E6 at 0.1 mg ml-1 did not affect each cell proliferation or DNA synthesis. In two nude-mouse tumour fashions, subcutaneous tumour progress and a lung colonisation (‘experimental metastasis’) assay, injection of 17E6 strongly inhibited tumour progress, whereas isotype-matched controls had no affect.

The information strongly assist earlier analysis which have indicated the importance of alpha v-integrins, and significantly alpha v beta 3, throughout the tumour growth of human melanoma.
